Dear Cookie Crisp,
You have been in my kitchen for many years now, but this is the first chance we’ve gotten to talk, and for that I apologize. However, it occurs to me now that you need someone to reach out to you.
Yes, I’ve noticed that you sell yourself to others as “The Delicious Taste of Chocolate Chip Cookies and Milk!” Let’s be honest here- you don’t taste like any chocolate chip cookie ever. There’s not really much of a chocolate taste to speak of, even when I get a bunch of the little chips down in the bowl.
But you know what? I like you anyway, Cookie Crisp. You don’t have to try and fool me with this persona you put out there in front of others. You’re tasty and delicious on your own. Not only that, but you’re part of a balanced breakfast, too!
I hope one day you can learn to accept yourself as you are. Just know that I’m here for you with a spoon, a bowl, and a jug of milk whenever you want to talk.
