I picked up Battlestar Galactica: Razor last night, the movie that is not only a flashback/prequel to season 2, but supposedly sets the stage for season 4 (which doesn't start until March). This is the "uncut" version, which has 20% more lesbians.
Lesbians make everything better. Everything.
For example, take your average fight between pirates and ninjas. A few years ago, it might have been amusing, but now it's just plain old hat. Add lesbians into the mix, and what do you get? Lesbian pirates fighting lesbian ninjas. Suddenly, it's gone from the usual scruffy, unwashed pirates pillaging and yelling dramatic battle cries while being cut down by shadowy Oriental assassins to a clothes-ripping cat fight that will inevitably end up in hot lesbian sex. Now that's quality entertainment.
As a side note, I've actually seen lesbian pirate vs. lesbian ninja on an amateur nerd-oriented porn site. No, I'm not going to provide a link to it. Some things have to be the Chef's own little secrets (besides, such things might be too much for the Maitre d' and make his pants explode with joy, which we wouldn't want).
Sadly, Galactica doesn't have lesbian pirates or lesbian ninjas. It does have Admiral Cain, who isn't really a pirate but does act like a ruthless pirate captain sometimes. Maybe she secretly wished she was a lesbian pirate, and that's why she press-ganged all those civilians into service. The world will never know.
At any rate, the "l"-word and Galactica are like two great tastes that taste great together (metaphorically speaking).
